Who are we?

Mission Statement

Our gathering as a congregation is in response to the divine call to be the Church. It is formed out of our voluntary and personal commitment of faith. It is shaped by a shared vision of what God calls us to be and to do. It becomes reality as we work with each other to live to the praise and glory of God. To respond to this call we covenant together in our different areas of service in the church.

Membership Covenant

I believe that Jesus is the Son of the Living God, my Saviour and my Lord, and that the Holy Spirit is my strength. Confessing my sin, I come, through the grace and mercy of God to be baptized and/or to join you in being part of the people of God. I will strive to determine God's will for my life through guidance from His Word, the Holy Spirit, and the counsel of fellow believers. I will endeavour to develop the kind of Spirit filled life that fosters support, healing, forgiveness and teaching among members of our fellowship. I want to be a peacemaker, glorifying God as part of a unified and unifying community. Because Jesus taught and lived a life of love, I will seek to love those outside our fellowship regardless of age, race or life situation. When I encounter spiritual (and moral) struggles, I will not pretend they do not exist, but will share issues with one or more persons whom I respect and trust. In sharing such struggles, I ask that you listen without judgement or advice-giving but rather affirm me through a willingness to share as well, some of your own such struggles. Like you, I want to give up all that hinders His will from being done in my life. In attempting to allow you to know who I am, I will be willing to give and receive counsel; to be encouraged and taken seriously; to be forgiven, challenged and held accountable for my words and deeds. Since God is the total owner of my life and resources, I want to use my time, energy, abilities and money, in serf-giving tasks that will express my love for Him, and for you. I want you to help me discern and express the gifts He has given me. I want this commitment to be a reality for the rest of my life, whether in this fellowship, or another, where God may lead me.
